Behind the Lens: Join Global Treehouse on Instagram!

When we think about children's palliative care, we often speak in terms of metrics, policy papers and clinical guidelines. These tools matter deeply—they're how we measure progress and scale solutions across borders. But there's something else that matters and can motivate us to act to change those statistics: the stories and human face of this work.

That's why we've launched @globaltreehouse on Instagram.

Seeing What Matters

Instagram isn't where we typically go to talk about health systems or clinical innovation. But it is where we stop scrolling when something moves us, where a single image can capture what a thousand-word report cannot. It’s a place where providers in Nairobi, São Paulo, Santa Fe and Mumbai might stumble upon each other's work and recognise themselves in it.

We're using this social media space to share what happens when innovation meets compassion—the people, the resources, the news articles, the visuals, including the quiet moments of joy that palliative care makes possible.

A Different Kind of Connection

Every day, people around the world ask the same questions we do: How do we reach more children in our community and our country? How do we adapt this model to work in our context? How do we help families navigate the unnavigable?

Instagram gives us a way to answer these questions not just with data, but with faces and stories. We’re excited to continue adding a kind of narrative that can integrate into people’s daily lives, so we can learn from what's happening in real time—and be reminded of why we are here at all.
